After Prof. Dr. Milomir Ninković successfully operated on his leg last summer and restored normal walking ability, Al Khamsan Ali Hussain M from Saudi Arabia once again travelled halfway across the world to reach the International Medical Center Priora in Čepin for a new procedure with the same plastic surgeon.
Successful reconstruction and continuation of treatment at Priora
For several years, the young man had almost no sensation in his foot and was unable to bend his right leg. This was a consequence of a routine vascular surgery in Saudi Arabia during which a nerve in his leg was damaged. Professor Ninković successfully performed a nerve transplant last summer, resolving his primary medical issue. This time, Al Khamsan Ali Hussain M came for scar correction procedures following the previous surgery in his home country.
– Three days after the surgery at Priora, I returned home, underwent physiotherapy, and recovered very well. I am extremely grateful to Professor Ninković for everything he has done for me. I have returned to Čepin for an additional reconstructive and corrective procedure that will improve muscle function and the appearance of my leg, says the 30-year-old Al Khamsan Ali Hussain M.
Patient trust confirmed through repeated visits
The first time, he went through a real journey before arriving at Priora. He first travelled to Munich, where Professor Ninković had led the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, Hand Surgery and Burn Treatment at Bogenhausen Hospital for two decades. At that time, Al Hussain did not know that the surgeon had continued his career at IMC Priora in late 2023. Undeterred, he continued his journey by bus to Čepin, a place he had never heard of before.
Due to the war in the Middle East, his journey this time was even more demanding.
– I travelled from Najran to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, then to Istanbul, then Zagreb, and finally arrived in Čepin. It was not easy; flights were delayed, but I am happy that circumstances did not stop me from coming back to Priora, where I was welcomed by top experts in beautiful Slavonia.
