World Physical Therapy Day

Get in touch

World Physical Therapy Day is observed every year on September 8. It provides an opportunity to raise awareness of the contribution of physiotherapists to maintaining health, mobility, and, ultimately, quality of life.

Physiotherapists play an important role in recovery following serious conditions and illnesses, as well as surgical procedures, helping patients regain mobility and strength and return to their daily activities as quickly as possible. Physiotherapy also plays an important role in disease prevention and maintaining health and physical function.

Physiotherapy in the Prevention and Rehabilitation of Cardiovascular Diseases

The central theme of this year’s World Physical Therapy Day is the role of physiotherapy and physical activity in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

World Physical Therapy Day has been observed since 1996 to commemorate September 8, 1951, when the organization World Physiotherapy was founded. By marking this day, World Physiotherapy seeks to support its member organizations in promoting physiotherapy and advancing professional expertise in the field.

New Physiotherapy Clinic

A new physiotherapy clinic has opened at the International Medical Center Priora in Čepin. With this addition, the hospital has further enhanced care for orthopedic patients, now providing a comprehensive service – from diagnosis and surgical treatment to postoperative rehabilitation.

The clinic is equipped with modern devices that enable rehabilitation in accordance with the highest international standards. Patients have access to ultrasound therapy, laser therapy, TECAR therapy, shockwave therapy, magnetotherapy, and various forms of electrotherapy. The clinic also features a modern kinesitherapy room, where rehabilitation is carried out under the professional supervision of orthopedists and physiotherapists.
