With the opening of its new Physical Therapy Outpatient Clinic, the International Medical Center Priora has further enhanced orthopedic patient care. Patients can now receive comprehensive treatment in one place – from specialist consultations and diagnostics to surgery, postoperative rehabilitation, and follow-up examinations.
As emphasized by Dr. Ivan Karlak, Specialist in Orthopedics and Subspecialist in Traumatology, Head of the Department of Orthopedics at IMC Priora, the success of orthopedic treatment depends not only on a well-performed surgical procedure but also on a properly guided recovery process.
New Physical Therapy Outpatient Clinic at IMC Priora
The new clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art technology that enables rehabilitation in accordance with the highest professional standards. Patients have access to ultrasound therapy, laser therapy, TECAR therapy, shockwave therapy, magnetotherapy, various forms of electrotherapy, and a modern exercise therapy gym where rehabilitation is carried out jointly by orthopedic surgeons and physiotherapists.
Special emphasis is placed on early mobilization following surgery, particularly after hip and knee replacement procedures. This approach helps reduce pain and swelling, accelerates healing, restores joint mobility, and enables patients to return to their daily activities more quickly.
Individual Rehabilitation with Advanced Equipment and an Expert Team
Each rehabilitation program is individually tailored according to the type of surgery, the patient’s overall health, and functional goals. The duration of rehabilitation is determined on a case-by-case basis, and the multidisciplinary team continuously monitors progress and adjusts the treatment plan as needed.
Physiotherapist Sena Matešić emphasizes that rehabilitation begins with a comprehensive assessment of posture, mobility, and muscle strength, along with review of the patient’s medical documentation, followed by the development of an individualized treatment plan. Treatment outcomes are continuously monitored, and for most patients, the first positive results become visible in the early stages of rehabilitation.
The Physical Therapy Outpatient Clinic is also available to patients who were not operated on at IMC Priora, as well as to individuals who continue to experience pain, reduced mobility, or other functional difficulties following previous surgical procedures. This integrated approach to treatment enables better coordination between orthopedic specialists and physiotherapists, contributing to a safer and more successful recovery.
