Dr. Ivan Samardžić was born in 1982 in Slavonski Brod, Croatia. After graduating from the Fra Marijan Lanosović Classical Gymnasium in 2000, he enrolled at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, where he graduated in 2006 and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree.

He began his professional career with a medical internship at Dr. Josip Benčević General Hospital in Slavonski Brod, where he developed a strong interest in orthopedics and traumatology from the very beginning. Between 2007 and 2009, he worked as a volunteer physician and junior doctor in the Department of Orthopedics before commencing his residency in orthopedic surgery. His specialist training was completed at Dr. Josip Benčević General Hospital and the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, University Hospital Centre Zagreb, where he gained extensive theoretical and practical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders and injuries.

Biography:

Upon completing his residency in 2015, Dr. Samardžić continued his career as an orthopedic surgeon at the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at Dr. Josip Benčević General Hospital in Slavonski Brod. Over more than a decade of independent clinical practice, he has been involved in the diagnosis, conservative treatment, and surgical management of a wide range of orthopedic and trauma patients. His daily practice includes outpatient consultations, surgical procedures, inpatient care, as well as active participation in the education of junior physicians and multidisciplinary medical teams.

Dr. Samardžić’s primary areas of professional interest include large joint arthroplasty, knee and hip surgery, sports traumatology, and arthroscopic surgery. He regularly attends national and international congresses, professional meetings, and educational courses in the field of orthopedics and traumatology.

He further expands his expertise through AO Trauma and AO Recon courses, Arthrex international training programs in knee arthroscopy, and specialized educational courses in knee and hip surgery held in Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.

In his daily practice, Dr. Samardžić believes that high-quality orthopedic care begins with careful listening, a thorough clinical examination, and clear communication. His goal is to provide every patient with expert, modern, and individualized treatment based on mutual trust and shared decision-making.
