Plastic surgery, reconstructive, aesthetic and hand surgery at IMC Priora – precision, experience and top results
Plastic surgery at Priora International Medical Center encompasses reconstruction of function and form, aesthetic enhancements, and highly specialized procedures on the hand. Our focus is on a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach: from precise diagnostics and planning to microsurgical techniques and personalized postoperative care, with a clear goal – natural appearance, preserved function, and lasting results.

Why IMC Priora – a treatment philosophy that combines form and function
At Priora International Medical Center, we believe that aesthetics are inseparable from function. We use advanced microvascular techniques, free tissue transfers, and precise reconstruction of nerves, tendons, and vessels to restore tissues after trauma, tumors, or congenital anomalies. In aesthetic procedures, the emphasis is on safety, subtlety, and stable outcomes, and in hand surgery, the emphasis is on the return of fine motor skills and sensation.
Leading team – world-class expertise
Prof. Dr. Sc. Milomir Ninković, MD – Head of the Department
A globally recognized authority in plastic, reconstructive, aesthetic and hand surgery, with decades of leadership in clinics in Austria and Germany (TUM – Klinikum Bogenhausen), winner of numerous international awards and former president of EURAPS. He has published 250+ scientific papers, 34+ book chapters and educated 80+ residents. Since 2024, he has headed the department at the Priora International Medical Center, bringing world-class microsurgery to Slavonia.
The latest procedure on a foreign patient at IMC Priora in Čepin, Prof. Dr. Sc. Milomir Ninković successfully performed a complex reconstructive nerve surgery on a 29-year-old patient from Saudi Arabia. Al Khamsan Ali Hussain M, a medical technician by profession, lost function in his leg due to medical error and spent more than two years unsuccessfully searching for a solution in his country.

Al Khamsan did not choose Professor Ninković by chance. His name is well-known among medical professionals and patients throughout the Arab world, especially among those who have undergone complex reconstructive procedures. After being disappointed by doctors in Saudi Arabia and Germany with the approach and treatment options, he decided to follow the personal recommendations of friends and acquaintances.
The fact that Čepin had never heard of it before did not discourage him; only one thing mattered to him: to restore function in his leg and walk without pain again. And he managed to do just that thanks to the expertise and dedication of the IMC Priora team.

Dr. Med. (TU Munich) Mirko Dozan, Dr. Med. – specialist in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery
Specialized at Rechts der Isar (TUM), with a doctorate and a number of academic awards (Rector’s, Dean’s Award). Expert in body shaping and surgical therapy of lipedema, with a strong emphasis on empathy, precision and measurable functional-aesthetic outcomes. Also Mirko Dozan, MD, was selected as one of the top 5 cosmetic surgeons in Croatia according to GloriaGlow magazine.

Reconstructive Surgery / Microsurgery – anatomical fidelity and functional excellence
Reconstructive microsurgery restores form and function in defects created after trauma, oncological procedures or congenital anomalies.
What we do:
- Free microvascular tissue transfers (skin, fascial, muscle, osteocutaneous flaps) for the face, breast, arm, lower extremities.
- Reconstruction of nerves and vessels, facial reanimation, post-mastectomy breast reconstruction.
- Lymphedema/lymphatic drainage treatment (supermicrosurgery).
Outcomes: natural contour, return of sensation and movement, stable tissue perfusion and reduction of complications with precise planning.
Cosmetic surgery – individual aesthetics, long-term result
Cosmetic surgery requires a personalized plan for each patient. The plan is personalized: assessment of anatomy, skin quality, expectations and lifestyle.
Operations (examples):
- face/neck (blepharoplasty, lifting, rhinoplasty)
- breast (augmentation/reduction, lift, reconstruction)
- body (abdominoplasty, liposuction, gluteal region shaping)
- minimally invasive and combined approaches (e.g. lipofilling)
Principles: safety, subtlety, natural appearance, controlled recovery.

Hand surgery – return to precise function and sensation
Indications: post-traumatic tendon/nerve injuries, joint stiffness, congenital malformations, post-amputation conditions (e.g. thumb), overuse syndromes, contractures.
Techniques:
- suture and nerve/tendon transfer, joint reconstruction, stabilization
- free flaps and tissue transfers for soft tissue defects
- reconstruction of the thumb (pollicisation), replantation
Goal: fine motor skills + sensation, return to activity and work, prevention of chronic pain.
Surgical therapy of lipedema – functional relief and aesthetic improvement
Lipedema is a painful disorder of fat distribution (predominantly in women), refractory to diet and exercise.
Our approach: detailed diagnostics, indication, surgical treatment (specialized liposuction) with an emphasis on safety, symmetry and pain/weight relief, and a maintenance plan.
Note: not all patients are candidates – consultation with a specialist is essential.

What does the patient journey look like – from consultation to recovery?
1) Consultation and plan
Assessment of the situation, definition of goals, intervention plan (and alternative options).
2) Preparation and safety
Laboratory, imaging diagnostics (if necessary), informed consent, anesthesia. assessment.
3) Procedure and microsurgical precision
Standardized protocols, team coordination, intraoperative perfusion/nerve control.
4) Recovery and control
Plan for mobilization, analgesia, physical therapy (for hand/reconstruction), clarity of expectations and monitoring of results.
