The International Medical Center Priora, located in Čepin, was presented in Orašje at the Navis Hotel, in the presence of numerous healthcare professionals, regional experts, and members of the public. This was a significant healthcare event that transcends local importance, with Priora standing out as a highly sophisticated medical center that employs the most advanced treatment methods and technologies.
Robotic Surgery and Advanced Technology
The project was conceived by Dr. Tomislav Kalem, Director and Head of the Department of Urology, Urologic Oncology, and Robotic Surgery, who brought his extensive experience from Germany to Croatia. As a doctor with roots in the Posavina region, he decided to develop a modern healthcare institution in the region after a successful international career. He emphasized that the goal was to transfer Western European hospital standards, stating:
“I brought the complete German medical system and knowledge, which we now apply in our local environment.”
Priora brings together an international team of top experts, with a strong focus on the return of medical professionals from abroad. Nurses have returned from Germany and Ireland, along with specialists from other countries, confirming high working conditions and professional development. A significant number of employees come from the Bosanska Posavina region, further strengthening regional ties.
IMC Priora as a Regional Center of Excellence
During the presentation, particular emphasis was placed on treatment outcomes and the use of advanced technologies, including the Da Vinci robotic system, positioning Priora as one of the leading centers of robotic surgery in Croatia and increasingly visible across Europe. The modern facility performs procedures in urology, plastic surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, cardiology, pulmonology, and gastroenterology.
Patients come to Priora from all over the world, including Germany and Austria, as well as Canada, Brazil, and Japan. At the same time, in addition to the permanent staff, procedures are also performed by visiting experts from several European countries. The combination of cutting-edge technology, innovative treatment methods, and an international team of physicians makes Priora one of the most modern healthcare institutions in the region.
