Prof. Milomir Ninković – a world-renowned name in Slavonia
The Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, a global medical authority, sent one of its young surgeons to Slavonia – more precisely to Čepin. Dr. James Paget, a plastic surgeon from the United Kingdom who has been working in the United States for several years, came to the International Medical Center Priora to spend a few days learning from one of the world’s leading experts, Prof. Milomir Ninković, head of the Department of Plastic, Esthetic, Reconstructive, and Hand Surgery.
Professor Ninković was born in Sarajevo and spent most of his career in Austria and Germany, where he earned international recognition and became a pioneer in microsurgery. For the past two years, he has been living and working in Slavonia, where at IMC Priora, he is building a center of excellence that attracts young doctors from all over the world to gain knowledge.

Dr. Paget studied medicine at the prestigious universities of Cambridge and Oxford, earning his PhD in London. Today, at the Mayo Clinic, he focuses on complex microsurgical reconstructions, especially after oncological procedures, and is further specializing in breast, head, and neck reconstruction. He decided to come to Slavonia on the recommendation of colleagues, emphasizing that Professor Ninković is “an absolute world leader” in these fields.

Connecting young specialists from the USA, the UK, and Europe with Professor Ninković and his team not only strengthens the hospital’s reputation but also places Slavonia in the spotlight of the global medical community.
