A congress that connects professionals, experiences, and best practices
The 14th international congress, “Nursing Without Borders,” was held in Opatija and organized by the Croatian Association of Nurses (HUMS). As in previous years, the congress took place at the conference center of the Four Opatija Flowers Hotel, gathering over 450 participants and presenting more than 250 expert lectures across various fields of nursing care and healthcare.

A congress that opens dialogue – without borders
Congress topics covered a wide range of areas: quality of healthcare, psychiatry, and mental health, as well as issues related to nursing education and the recognition of high-level professional competencies.
Round tables as a central format – Priora’s participation
On the second day of the congress, particular focus was given to round table discussions that sparked meaningful conversations on:
- Graduate-level nursing education
- Recognition of qualifications and competencies
- Working in transcultural healthcare environments
- Mental health challenges among healthcare professionals
- Secondary education and employment in the healthcare system
Organizational approaches, professional standards, and challenges in nursing care within private hospitals were presented, highlighting the importance of continuous education, multidisciplinary collaboration, and improving the quality of care in line with the latest European guidelines. Head Nurse Martina Ivanišić represented IMC Priora.

Additionally, international symposiums were held, including those hosted by the Society for Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolic Diseases, and a symposium on palliative care and hospice.
Healthcare as a shared responsibility
The participation of representatives from both public and private sectors, along with international guests, once again demonstrated that the challenges in healthcare go beyond institutional borders and that high-quality care results from shared investment in knowledge, standards, and people.

We thank the Croatian Association of Nurses for trusting us and for recognizing our potential. The support of such a respected professional organization is valuable encouragement and motivation for our continued growth and development. We look forward to further collaboration.
IMC Priora remains committed to supporting professional events that connect healthcare workers, foster education, and promote dialogue about the future of care.
