Dimitrije Milojković, MD. runs the gynecological clinic in IMC Priora, with many years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological diseases. It focuses on colposcopy, hysteroscopy, guided biopsies and the treatment of pre-invasive changes in the cervix, with continuous training and work in multidisciplinary teams. In his work, he combines expertise, discretion and an individual approach.

Gynecology – prevention and early diagnosis – from PAPA (LBC) test to colposcopy and hysteroscopy

PAP test (LBC) – the basis of secondary prevention of cervical cancer

The Pap test (preferably LBC – liquid-based cytology) is a simple and short test that takes a swab of cells from the cervix for early detection of changes. The Pap test/LBC is the basis of secondary prevention and is often the first step that determines further treatment (HPV test, repeated Pap test, colposcopy, biopsy).

The recommended frequency of examination depends on age and findings, and is adjusted by the doctor individually.

Colposcopy – detailed examination of the cervix under magnification

Colposcopy is a painless, non-invasive examination of the cervix using a colposcope (magnification of the mucous membrane up to ~40×), which enables the observation of changes invisible to the naked eye. It is key in early detection of precancerous and cancerous changes in the cervix, but also in follow-up after treatment.

Vulvoscopy – early diagnosis of changes in the external genitalia

Vulvoscopy allows for a detailed examination of the skin and mucous membrane of the vulva using magnification and strong light, for the early detection of changes that may require further treatment or therapy.

Hysteroscopy – precise solution to intrauterine problems

Hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive endoscopic method that uses a camera to examine the inside of the uterus and, if necessary, immediately remove polyps, septa, or other pathological conditions; it often resolves the causes of heavy bleeding or infertility.
