Matej Plažanin, MD

Internal Medicine Specialist, and Gastroenterology Subspecialist

Dr. Matej Plažanin was born on January 28, 1979, in Zagreb. He is married, a father of four children, and currently lives and works in Osijek.

Biography:

He completed his secondary education at the Natural Sciences and Mathematics Gymnasium in Našice (1993–1997), and graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek in 2005. He gained his initial clinical experience during his internship at Našice County General Hospital (2005–2006).

From 2006 to 2011, he pursued his specialization in internal medicine at the University Hospital Centre Osijek and Sveti Duh Clinical Hospital in Zagreb. Between 2011 and 2015, he worked as a specialist in internal medicine at Našice County General Hospital, where he developed a strong focus on gastroenterology.

In 2016, he joined the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University Hospital Centre Osijek. He completed his subspecialization in gastroenterology in 2019 (KBC Osijek and KBC Sestre milosrdnice), continuing his work as a gastroenterology subspecialist at the same department.

In 2020, he returned to Našice County General Hospital as a specialist in internal medicine and subspecialist in gastroenterology. Since 2023, he has worked at the “Slavonija” Polyclinic in Osijek, providing specialized care in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and hepatology.

Starting in June 2025, Dr. Plažanin will join the team at the International Medical Center Priora, where he will work as a gastroenterology specialist in the gastroenterology outpatient clinic, offering highly specialized diagnostic and treatment services for digestive system disorders.
