Ivan Radoja, MD, PhD

Urology Specialist, Subspecialist in Neurourology and Urodynamics

Dr. Ivan Radoja, born on July 26, 1982, in Osijek, Croatia, where he currently lives and works, is an Assistant Professor in Clinical Medical Sciences.

Biography:

He completed his medical education at the Faculty of Medicine, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, earning his degree in 2006.

Following a one-year internship and successful completion of the Croatian Medical Chamber licensing exam, he began working in primary care before starting his residency in urology at the University Hospital Centre Osijek, which he completed in 2013. Between 2016 and 2018, he pursued a subspecialization in neuro-urology and urodynamics at the same institution.

In 2018, he received a scholarship from the Croatian Medical Chamber for international professional development and earned a Certificate in Urodynamics from the Bristol Urological Institute in the UK. He later completed further advanced urodynamics training in the United Kingdom and the Czech Republic.

From 2008 to 2022, Dr. Radoja worked at the Department of Urology at the University Hospital Centre Osijek, where he was actively involved in clinical work, device procurement, and quality improvement processes in urodynamic diagnostics. He continued his clinical practice at the National Memorial Hospital “Dr. Juraj Njavro” in Vukovar (2022–2023) and subsequently worked in the private healthcare sector, providing expert care in urology, focusing on neurology and functional diagnostics.

As of May 2025, he will join the team at the International Medical Center Priora and continue his clinical and academic work in urology.

In parallel with his clinical work, Dr. Radoja has been actively involved in scientific research and academic teaching. He earned his PhD in 2019 with a dissertation focused on the impact of urinary incontinence on the quality of life, sexual function, and mental health in women. He has been a member of the academic staff at the Faculty of Medicine in Osijek since 2020, and in 2023, he was appointed Assistant Professor in Clinical Medical Sciences (Urology).

He is a member of several professional associations, including the Croatian Medical Chamber, Croatian Urological Association, and the International Continence Society, where he has also served as a member of the Occult Neurourology Workgroup. Since 2020, he has been a member of the International Journal of Clinical Urology editorial board.
