Our department covers the entire spectrum of urological conditions – from preventive examinations and minimally invasive procedures to urological oncology and robotic surgery<\/strong>. Under the leadership of M.Sc. sc. Tomislav Kalem, MD, an internationally trained and proven expert, developed a department where precise diagnostics, safe procedures and quick recovery<\/strong> are the standard of everyday practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. sc. Tomislav Kalem, MD,<\/strong> is a Croatian-German urologist with an impressive international career. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb<\/strong>, completed his medical studies in Osijek (1987),<\/strong> and obtained his master’s degree in 1994 in Zagreb<\/strong>. He began his specialization<\/strong> in urology<\/strong> in 1991 in Osijek, and completed it in 1998 in Frankfurt<\/strong>.

During his training, he worked and interned in Bern, Berlin<\/strong>, Karlsruhe and Fulda<\/strong>, where, after his specialist exam, he headed the Department of Urology and Pediatric Urology<\/strong> at the Clinic and then served as Deputy Director<\/strong> (until 2005). From 2005 until the end of 2023, he ran a private practice<\/strong> with 22 beds and a private department at the Lauterbach Hospital<\/strong> (Germany).

Urologist Tomislav Kalem participated in the conference “Croatian Immigration and Economic Development: Specificities and Opportunities”, organized by the Ministry of Demography and Immigration<\/a>, and held on Tuesday at the Economic Center of Osijek-Baranja County<\/a> in Osijek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kalem, who himself returned to Croatia<\/strong> precisely because of Priora<\/strong>, after three decades of training, working and living in Germany, spoke on the panel “Return and immigration to Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem – development investments and potentials”<\/strong>. At the end of 2023,<\/strong> he was appointed Director of the Priora International Medical Center<\/strong> and Head of the Department of Urology, Urological Oncology and Robotic Surgery.<\/a> Historic breakthrough<\/strong>: On June 3, 2024, Dr. Kalem<\/strong> performed the first robot-assisted<\/strong> radical prostatectomy<\/strong> in the Republic of Croatia using the Da Vinci system, thus opening a new chapter in modern urology in the region at the Priora International Medical Center<\/strong>.
Thanks to the introduction of Da Vinci Xi, Mona Lisa Dx Biobot, Histolog, HoLEP and PDD technologies<\/strong>, the most modern urology department<\/strong> in the region was created, with an emphasis on precision, safety and functional recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assistant Professor, Dr. Sc. Ivan Radoja \u2013 urology specialist and expert in neurourology and urodynamics<\/h2><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Doc. prim. dr. sc. Ivan Radoja<\/strong> is a specialist in urology<\/strong> and a subspecialist in neurourology and urodynamics<\/strong>, with clinical and academic experience from KBC Osijek and abroad. He holds the international certificate \u201cCertificate in Urodynamics\u201d<\/strong> (Bristol Urological Institute, UK), with advanced training in urodynamics in the United Kingdom and the Czech Republic. He is an active assistant professor<\/strong> and research associate<\/strong> in biomedicine; in 2019 he defended his doctorate on the impact of urinary incontinence on the quality of life of women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At IMC Priora, Dr. Radoja<\/a> specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of functional urinary tract disorders<\/strong>: urinary incontinence, bladder emptying disorders, neurogenic bladder, chronic retention, overactive bladder, and LUTS in men and women.

Thanks to his expertise in urodynamic measurements<\/strong> and neurourology, he provides patients with accurate problem stratification and individualized treatment plans<\/strong> (conservative, minimally invasive, and surgical options), in close collaboration with the Department’s oncology and functional urology departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
