It is marked every year on <strong>May 12<\/strong>, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing as a recognized profession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The invaluable role of nurses<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This day is an opportunity to highlight the<strong> invaluable role of nurses and medical technicians<\/strong> in the healthcare system, as well as their daily care, expertise, and dedication to patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nurses and medical technicians play a key role in patient care \u2013 they provide support, participate in treatment, and care for the health and well-being of citizens every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.priora.eu\/en\/about-us\/our-team\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"2560\" src=\"https:\/\/www.priora.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/sestre-3-edited-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10849\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/priora.eu\">International Medical Center Priora<\/a><\/strong>, 28 nurses and medical technicians care for patients every day, and we are extremely proud of them. Their contribution to<strong> quality, professional, and timely healthcare<\/strong> is truly immeasurable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among them is nurse Kristina Zadkovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI have been working as a nurse for six years now. During that time, I have gained invaluable experience and learned how important and responsible this profession truly is. I chose nursing because working with people fulfills me, and I feel that through my knowledge and care, I can help someone during difficult moments. Even after six years, I still love my job because every day brings a<strong> new experience and an opportunity to do something good for others<\/strong>,\u201d says nurse Zadkovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Nursing is a calling<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her work is <strong>dynamic<\/strong> and <strong>demanding,<\/strong> but for her it is not just a job \u2013 it is a calling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTaking care of patients, communicating with them, and teamwork make up most of my day, and no two days are the same. The most rewarding moments are when I see a patient feeling better and know that I contributed, even just a little, to that improvement. The hardest moments are when we face difficult life situations and the emotions of patients and their families,\u201d she explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"http:\/\/priora.eu\/en\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1707\" src=\"https:\/\/www.priora.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/sestre-2-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10850\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When asked what matters most in the relationship with patients, she says that understanding, patience, and kind words are essential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPatients often find great comfort in feeling heard and knowing they are not alone,\u201d she emphasizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTo young colleagues, I would say: be<strong> patient<\/strong>, <strong>empathetic<\/strong>, and always <strong>work with your heart<\/strong>.
